There will be a general meeting for all the members of the Hispanic, English-speaking and Samoan Small Christian Communities along with the Parish Advisory Board, Parish Finance Council and members of the Parish Staff on Saturday 16th October from 9:00 – 12 noon at the Serra Center. Coffee
and finger food will be served at 10:30.
This is a very important gathering so please save the date. We will launch “Rebuild My Church” – an initiative rooted in the Franciscan tradition to renew and build up our parish community in 2010/2011.

The QLM will be held in the Lausen room at the Old Mission Retreat Center and is a great way for parish leadership to keep in touch with what’s going on with the parish. The QLM is sponsored by the parish Advisory Board.
Refreshments begin at 9am with time to meet with other Ministry leaders. The meeting starts at promptly at 9:30am and concludes at 11:30am. Join us as welcome our new Pastor, Fr. Chuck Talley and associate, Fr. Adrian Peelo.
In addition, we’ll have Br. James Lockman presenting the recently approved Ten Year Plan for the Old Mission San Luis Rey.

Br. James Lockman will be presenting the 10 year plan for the Old Mission. Br. James earned degrees in Botany (BS) and Environmental Horticulture (MS) from UC Davis and a MA in Theology from the Franciscan School of Theology. He served as an elected provincial counselor, becoming involved with the initial attempt to begin a master plan for Mission San Luis Rey and a new friary. In 1994 he pursued a PhD in Ecology at Penn State and worked for several years in the Brazilian Amazon.
